Memphis police released photo of 2 wanted in connection with shooting that killed rapper Young Dolph

A day after a shooting that left rapper Young Dolph dead, Memphis police released a photo of two people sought in connection with the incident. Dolph, 36, was taken to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday following a drive-by shooting that left the rapper wounded several times and died at around 1:35 a.m. on Wednesday, according to The Commercial Appeal. A 25-year-old man was also shot in the incident and remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Several eyewitnesses told WREG, a local news station, that the shooting happened following a shot rang out at Young Dolph’s tour bus as they returned from filming an episode of the MTV reality show Tupelo, Mississippi. Dolph had been returning from performing the day before. A man riding with Dolph, Charles Adkins, was on the phone with a friend when he heard a gunshot and noticed a “whoosh” as he fell down the stairs. Adkins told the station that he thinks he heard three shots and he didn’t see the shooting man, but he said that the suspect or suspects “crossed the street where I was standing, toward the bus,” and there was a “blowout.” Adkins suffered a graze wound to his head. Memphis police are still searching for the shooter and suspects.
