‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’: Zendaya reacts to Donald Glover’s use of ‘Spider-Man’ — and calls it ‘crazy’

Zendaya, Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” star, has learned the hard way to never tell a questioner that would publicly address an event that happened before they met. On Friday, the actress was live on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” to promote the upcoming fourth installment of the Marvel film franchise, “Avengers: Infinity War.” When the host asked her what she would have said in the situation where Tom Holland has been mistaken for her former stepfather Donald Glover from “Community,” the star said that she had “no idea” what she would have said. “Do you want to answer it, too?” he asked, in an attempt to get her to address the issue.

“I mean, I don’t know,” she replied. “I really don’t know what would have happened if I did say anything. But I will say this, that it’s sort of crazy, because I was so young that I wasn’t even aware of that. I didn’t even know Donald Glover was my stepfather. So I think a lot of people aren’t even aware of that.”

Holland and Glover have since reconciled since the original controversy, which happened in 2015, according to HuffPost. You can watch the exchange below.
